I am 80 years old. I still write everything in cursive. I find that as I write I think carefully about each word and it's spelling. Our generation was taught penmanship and mine is still readable even though my fingers have grown stiff. I dislike AI as it changes the meaning and effort I have put into my thoughts. I have more time than younger people but I regret that they don't have time to think about their words.
I see no reason schools should not prefer scholarly traits. Or art studios artistic talent. Or gymnasiums muscle. Or businesses those traits deemed likely by the owner to result in profit for the owner.
